Review: The Secret Hour by Scott Westerfield

Nobody is safe in the secret hour.

This book is amazing!! It literally had me hooked, I was so upset when it ended but I can not wait to read the next one.

Jessica Day moves to the small town of Bixby she discovers that she is a Midnighter; someone who stays awake in the secret hour. She has trouble as the darklings, creatures that are after her.

It kept me on edge as I wasn't sure if any of the characters would survive each secret hour, and I was curious to find out what exactly Jessica Day was capable off, and why the darklings were so scared of her.

When it came to an end it had me wanting more, especialy the last thought Melissa hears.

Review: Circle of Fire by Michelle Zink

With time dwindling but her will to end the Prophecy stronger than ever, Lia sets out on a journey to find the remaining keys, locate the missing pages of the Prophecy, and convince her sister Alice to help--or risk her life trying. Lia has her beloved Dimitri by her side, but Alice has James, the man who once loved her sister--and maybe still does. There are some secrets sisters aren't meant to share. Because when they do, it destroys them. This stunning conclusion to Michelle Zink's Prophecy of the Sisters trilogy will make saying good-bye bittersweet for readers.

This book is so amazing that it's making it really difficult to sum my thoughts up. Thinking about what I loved, I loved every minute of it, just couldn't get enough. I'm kind of sad that it has ended because I have to say this series is one of the best that I have ever read.

I'll be sad to let them go but I will be checking out Michelle's new series, I'm extremely excited to read it.

Now Lusia is my favourite character, I just love her but I also love Alice even after all the horrible things shes done, I can kind of see where she was coming from and how she felt.

This book felt like someone had tore my heart out right at the end i was in tears really embarrassing but it's true.

I really urge people who like old, Gothic stories to pick this series up and read her knew one A Temptation of Angels when it comes out March 20th 2012 and I love the cover.

Self-Publishing

So basically my sister, Sarah came across this website called Wattpad.com. Sarah is addicted to this site and told me to look at it and I did, and to be honest it's amazing.

The website gives a chance for unpublished authors to share there work on a website where they can see if it will draw in readers. There are a lot of really good stories and one I came across a book called Life's A Witch and I have to say the book is amazing. The author Brittany,s she's such an amazing writer and I suggest you look up her book when it comes out on December 8th.

Another person what was suggested I may like by Lily over at Shadowkissed.com was kate Hawkings and to be honest I am really looking forward to reading her book which is out sometime in February. You can check her out at KCHawkings.

The question that has been lingering on my mid is why do people chose to self-publish and well I came up with a few reasons.

1. They want to be able to decide what best fits into their novel.
2. Taking the traditional route may not work.
3. The traditional publishing route does not fit in with their ideas.
4. They want full control of their novel.

So tell me why do you think people are choosing to self-publish?

Review: Deadly Little Secret by Laurie Faria Stolarz

I know I said the next review would be Circle of Fire by Michelle Zink but I just had to get this out there.

I fell in love with this book from the moment I read the first word. It had me and I just didn't want to put it down.

I love this book!

It was one of those books that dropped little hints here and there. It made you think twice about certain characters, but in the end it just had me hooked.

It is based on a girl named Camelia and when the new boy turns up her life change dramatically.

Laurie is one of those rare authors who just pulls me right into the book. I actually never wanted this book to end and look forward to reading the next one.

You should defiantly read this!

Review: Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins

Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.

That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.

But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. I’m so glad that we finally got to meet Sophie’s dad, James. I mean he just seems awesome.

There are some new characters including Daisy, Nick and Lara, who just happened to be Mrs Casnoff’s sister, now I can tell you that I was just as shocked as Sophie.

Although Lara seems nice, she wasn’t all she made out to be, but come on I should have known that it was just too obvious, she just seemed was too nice.

Cal wasn’t the quite person we were used to and there was a shock there too, including the ending which was one of those OMG moments. He kind of made up when Archer, swoon, wasn’t in the book but I still missed him terribly maybe even as much of Sophie.

Jenna even had a shock announcement to make to Sophie. We also got to meet her girlfriend, which to be quite honest I nearly forgot existed but never mind she did seem alright from what we got from Rachel.

I didn’t mention Elodie, now I love this character and was so happy when she may have appeared in the book, but I’m not going to tell you that you want to know READ THE BOOK, trust me on that.

This was one of those books that I couldn’t put down. Can’t wait till the next one it just seems so far away.
